Neon

   Aerodynamics

The main criteria to be met by this model – simplicity of control. This is due to the fact that the glider has shown itself as an excellent model for beginners and children. Beginner have to think about how to properly throw and control model, rather than on how to set up best flight modes. For this purpose Neon has a pretty large V- angle of the wing. Such angle allows model to be very stable in any weather.

Tail surfaces of Neon has a little excessive area. It makes it possible to smooth out some errors in control. Increased fin area helps to obtain straight launch without any additional presets. In addition, glider has extended fairings between wing and fuselage, and thus overall drag has been minimized.

Neon is delivered with two control surfaces: elevator and rudder. This is more than enough for “Mosquito” class glider and does not limit somehow flying possibilities of Neon. It responds to the control very sensitively comparable to gliders with ailerons. In general, the glider is a very good suites both training and competition flights.



   Construction

The basis of design can be described by the phrase: "as simple as possible." Neon delivered in ARF condition: whole one-piece wing is completely ready for installation on the fuselage; pylon for stabilizer preformed in one piece the fuselage; necessary mounting holes are prepared. You should only install the fin and RC equipment. Together with this assembly simplicity Neon has a rigid and sturdy construction.



   Wing

The wing is a monolithic structure, and has all the necessary reinforcements and the mounting holes. Wing model made of a one-piece foam core, covered with two layers of glass cloth in negative molds with high pressure. This technology provides a lightweight and very strong wings. Two layers of glass cloth well protecting the wing from scratches, dents and other damages from grass, bushes and other matters during flights or transportation. Wingtips reinforced around the throwing peg. Spar is made of carbon wire, which makes the wing even more rigid.



   Tail surfaces

Construction of tail surfaces is very similar to wing’s one. Fin and stabilizer are made of foam core, milled on CNC and molded with glass cloth in negative molds. Large control surfaces tail ensures excellent handling of Neon.



   Fuselage

Fuselage of Neon is made with usage of best practices in the construction F3K models. It has no any joining parts: nose, tail boom and pylon for stabilizer molded in one piece. Such fuselage has great reliability together with high overall rigidity.

Absence of joining parts increases the reliability of the fuselage and completely eliminates the possibility of separating a certain part of the fuselage due to poor gluing. This is very frequent problem for the inexperienced pilots and hobbyists.

In addition to the reliability we made the fuselage very convenient. RC compartment of the fuselage is so large that it is easy fits any 9 g servos, pretty large receiver and batteries of AAA size.

Lets put special attention on the pylon for stabilizer. When assembling the stabilizer, one needs to make a groove in the backside of pylon for elevator horn, and glue horn exactly on symmetry axis of Fuselage. Thus horn moves inside the pylon and does not produce additional drag.

The fuselage is molded of glass and carbon with usage of high pressure.
